Odds & Ends-Volume 24

demarcus-cousinsIf the Sacramento Kings do anything smart this season, they will trade DeMarcus Cousins.

As talented as he is, Cousins has continued to remind the Kings fans that are left that a mature and collected version of himself has yet to arrive. While he is leading the team in scoring and rebounding,he also is tied for the league lead in technical fouls with seven. And this is on a team that is located in a city that no longer cares about them because they don’t win and may not even stick around.

In the second half of the Kings’ loss the Clippers on Friday, Cousins was asked not to participate. Before halftime, Cousins was seen on video yelling at head coach Keith Smart and according to sources more words were exchanged between the two in the locker room at halftime. The following day he was suspended indefinitely.

It’s apparent that not only do the Kings need to trade Cousins before he loses any more trade value. Not only that but when you’re costing your team possible wins by you not being out there, something’s gotta give.

Though I don’t have a lot of love for them, I feel bad for the Jets this year. well, mainly one of them. Tim Tebow.Tebow

Here’s a guy who helped get the Broncos to the playoffs last season, not only that but they won a playoff game and then he gets traded to the Jets with fans thinking he might unseat Mark Sanchez as the starting quaterback if things went sour. Not only did that not happen but the man hardly got to play.

Whether you think he is a good quarterback or not, Tebow is a good football player. He has shown that he can win football games when he does play. It doesn’t do him or the Jets any good if he is sitting on the bench watching Greg McElroy is starting ahead of him. Why the hell did they acquire him if they were never going to use him? It’s downright ridiculous.

I hope Tebow can find a better home next season where they’ll actually value him instead of how he was treated this year. This man is a football player, not some punt blocker.

PatriotsIf the New England Patriots had trouble holding off a Jacksonville Jaguars team that has won only two games all season, I have a lot of trouble believing they will go far this postseason.

Favored by 14 points going into Sunday, the Patriots fell behind early 13-3 but tied it up going into halftime at 13. Then with them up 23-16, the Jaguars kept fighting back to try and win and almost did had the Patriots not had some key plays on defense to save the game from being the team’s fifth loss of the year and second straight loss.

Yes they won but the team has to think they could’ve played a hell of a lot better than they should have. I would have thought they would play better after getting their asses handed to them by the 49ers at home last week, but they instead concerned me even more. I know I shouldn’t worry about them heading into next week’s game against Miami at home, but if the lowly Jaguars stood a chance on Sunday, anyone just might.

One thing that bothers me that fans do is finding other things to blame other than the team they love when they lose. Whether it be the other team’s defense or the officials or whatever. How about blaming your team’s on the field performance when they lose and lose badly?

When you play the blame game like that it makes you look like a crybaby. Sometimes officials make terrible calls, deal with it. Unless you’re a Packers fan in Week Three of this season, you can’t complain that much about officiating. After all, you fans wanted the real officials back so badly, didn’t you? Well then don’t bitch!NFL

Your team lost because they didn’t come to play against an opponent that was ready for them. It’s as simple as that! Sometimes your team deserves to lose. I know last week that was the case for my team.

I hope everyone out there has a great holiday season! I hope you get everything you wish for and that you and your loved ones are safe and well this holiday season!
