Last midseason, the New Orleans Pelicans (formerly the Hornets) unveiled their new name and logo. Thursday, the team released their new uniforms.
The home and road uniforms both feature a stylized New Orleans wordmark across the chest, which I think is smaller than it should be,especially if your eyes are as bad as mine. The player number is below the city name in a stylized font.
The colors of the uniforms look very sharp. The home set is white with navy blue numbers with letters and gold borders. The away set is navy blue with white numbers and letters with gold borders. Red is added to the trim of the side striping, which I think looks great on both uniforms. The primary logo of the team is on each side of the shorts.
The team has plans for an alternate third uniform, but as per NBA policy, they can not have one until next season.
The uniforms are about what I expected the Pelicans to unveil. The only thing I wish they would have done is to make the city name bigger on the uniforms. Like I said, it helps us folks who have bad eyes. I also am puzzled as to why Pelicans is not at least on the home uniform. Why change your nickname if it is not even on your uniform?
Overall, I am okay with these uniforms. Thumbs Up!
