I am a big 7Up fan, I think it is not only the best lemon-lime soda out there today, but the best one ever created. So naturally, I wanted to try this version of their product. I have been meaning to review this forever, but have been forgetting and/or putting it off.
This product was introduced in late May following the season finale of The Apprentice and I have maybe seen it in stores since July. This soda is the latest (following sodas such as Pepsi,Mountain Dew,and Dr.Pepper) that have experimented with returning to using real sugar in their soft drinks as opposed to high fructose corn syrup, which is not very good for you.
Personally, I have enjoyed these sodas returning to sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup just because they taste a lot better. I think 7Up Retro packs the same punch and does it very well. Although I think the flavor of 7Up is still existent, you can tell that sugar is being used and it’s a refreshing feeling if I may say so myself. Even though I do like 7Up as it is sold nowadays, this is very good.
Currently 7Up is only test marketing this so it remains to be seen if it will be an item that will be sold regularly, but I do hope that they will keep it around. It has packing with the old 7Up from the 1970s and 1980s. I give 7Up Retro a… Thumbs Up!
