Our seventh anniversary of this very site is today. I started this blog after just having left as sports editor at the American River Current and desiring to create my own content without having to writ for someone else, this site was born. On this day in 2010, All Things Orange (as it was known then) posted the first entry followed by a review of the Carl’s Jr. Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger (which needs to come back,by the way).

Not long after launching,this blog became primarily a sports blog,even though as most longtime readers know that this blog still writes about other stuff besides sports. If there’s something on my mind about us a society,I’ll take it on the best way that I know how. If it’s a review on a new food item, I’ll talk about it here. And of course every December I’ll have my end of the year lists starting with the Things That Need to Go list.

I’ve also dived into my own personal life talking about personal details such as illness, social anxiety disorder and my battle with it,and the untimely death of my father in 2015. My piece about him and his life is by far the most important thing I’ve ever written and I have no idea how I’ll ever top that.

Since 2010, we’ve seen a lot as sports fans. We’ve seen the Giants bring championship glory to a fanbase starved for it. We’ve seen the Sacramento Kings flirting with relocation and then finally staying and calling downtown home. We’ve seen relocations of sports teams and superstars and much more. There’s always going to be something big to talk about and I hope to keep doing for you,the fan,in the time to come.

I also want to revive a couple of features like Tale of the Tape and Things Everybody Else Loves That I Hate. I also want to do more In Defense Of segments. I would also love to have some guest columns and if you or someone you know may be interested in submitting a piece for me and this site,feel free to ask.

Eight hundred and sixty two entries and over 120,000 views later and we’re still doing pretty good. I hope to be doing this for years to come as it makes me happy and I hope it makes you happy,too.
