Welcome to another edition of Things Everybody Else Loves That I Hate. I just want to state for the record, I really don’t like doing this feature all too much because so many things annoy me,but sometimes this does get to be a release for me when I need to vent. Also as a public service, it must be done.

And since this is a public service and I am a man of the people, today I must rain on the parades of many of you because I know a lot of you wear these shoes and enjoy doing so. I am talking of course about TOMS shoes. I don’t understand the appeal of them other than the profits going to help people who don’t have shoes. For those that don’t know,TOMS shoes donates a pair of shoes to someone in need of them with every pair sold.

Let me make this clear, I have no problem with helping the unfortunate getting shoes,in fact,I think it is wonderful. But can’t they make some better looking ones? Or better yet, can’t we either write them a check or send them something with style? This is very unappealing and unattractive footwear if I have ever seen it. Not only that, I guarantee you that if the gimmick of helping poor children get shoes was not attached to these shoes, nobody would buy them. Not even you.

As I said in our Things That Need to Go in 2011 list at the end of 2010, this is the Honda Element of footwear. What I mean by that is the Honda Element was a ugly looking and poorly designed car, not to mention it was proof that wealth doesn’t always buy class when it comes to automobiles.

I’ve also heard that these shoes make your feet smell awful after wearing them and the last time I checked, foot odor was not a positive thing. I’ve also seen how fast they deteriorate and if you ask me, I’d rather have shoes that last a while (Oh,and I do).

Also,why are guys wearing these? Seriously! Any guy who wears these should keep an eye on their Man card before it flies out of an open third story window.

Now if you all will excuse me, I am off to go get another pair of the coolest shoes ever…Converse All-Stars.
